2012 Barry Walker Classic Pairs

Congratulations to Alex & Ross in your win over Rod & Keith.
From the start, the game was destined to be a challenge and a spectacle.
Rod & Keith broke away to an early lead despite best efforts by Alex & Ross.
By mid way through the game, Alex & Ross had started to reign in the deficit and managed to gain the lead with a few ends to go.
That wasn't the end for Rod & Keith though (as you'd expect from Keith who never says die) and a rally by them bought the final score to 21 to 20.
A great game to watch.
Well done.

  1. 3 of the 4 games from Round 3 DID manage to reach conclusion today, despite the very quick green and unhelpful, unreliable wind conditions. As some would say ‘a tough day in the office’.
And the candles were not quite required!

Congratulations to teams progressing to next week’s semi-final.

  2. With very unfriendly windy weather, gusty in all directions, the second round games took 3 1/2 hours to complete.
Anything resembling a tight head was worthy of a photo!
For most of the games, the scores were close (except for Macca). It wasn’t until late in the games that scores started to seperate.
All in all, a very challenging morning.
Now for Round 3 games this afternoon and probably into early evening with candles!

  3. Thank you for wanting to include me but no, that’s your job. I only have my fellow bowlers interests at heart, that what they read is in fact correct.
Suggestion: It would be best to check the cards…..

    • Fairly certain – didn’t look at the score cards to personally verify the results, thought I could leave that to you to verify.

  4. Round 1 completed today (2 games) with Eric Hilton/Paul Van Tilburg fighting a great battle against John Skidmore/Michael Quinlan. Scores were level at 18 all on 19 ends. John & Paul won the next 2 ends to win 22 to 18.

In the other game, Leo Saly & Nev Roach were no match for Alex Stewart & Ross Tinmouth. Final score 24 to 9.

    Congratulations to the winners.
    Round 2 next week.
