2012 Mixed Triples – Final

The final of the Mixed Triples was played today with the team of Kaye Eagle, Warren Phillips and Peter Eagle defeating Denise Hopkins, Rod Gamble and Kevin Tuckerman 21-20.

Just like the Mixed Pairs played just a month ago, this match turned out to be a thrill a minute with some of the heads good enough to rival what you would expect to see on Saturday afternoon TV bowls.

The great pity is that the Mixed events are not generally supported by either the Men’s or Women’s sections. There were only nine teams entered for the Pairs and only five teams for the triples.

Having seen the quality of the matches played today it would be a great disappointment if Mixed Events are gradually phased out due to a lack of genuine interest.
