(Author writes - My apologies to the legions of my adoring fans who I have disappointed with my tardiness in posting a report on the progress of Tuckerman's Twelve. Mea culpa)
Going into this most important match, indeed the penultimate match of the season, the boys knew that a 6-0 win against Parramatta RSL was the only outcome which would give us a fighting chance of making the play-offs. In somewhat blustery conditions at Parramatta, we bowled as one team and emerged as champions.
The Rod Foster Rockets once again put on a stellar performance with Tyrrell, Ede, Schwarcz and Foster showing they are a force to be reckoned with. Some super bowling had them in the lead early, only to be caught up by a determined Parramatta side. The Rockets eventually prevailed 23-18 over Parramatta.
The Hoffman Hornets welcomed a fresh face into their side with the inclusion of Young Doug McClymont as lead, adding his veritable wealth of bowling prowess to the side comprising of Don "Sofa" Couch, Palm and Hoffman. As usual with this side, the excitement levels were astronomical. The Hornets were successful over Parramatta 25-18.
As always, the report finishes with the report on the Kevin Tuckerman Kings featuring Jackson, Joyce, Wilson and Tuckerman. After the late arrival of Wilson from his academic studies, the team were a bit unsettled early on and were under the pump to be 13-all with Parramatta after 13 ends. The Kings combined well to win 28-19.
As the regular reader of this journalistic brilliance would be aware, the 6-0 win over Parramatta RSL puts West Pennant Hills back in the lead of Section 1 of Grade 5. Sitting 2 points clear of second placed Merrylands on the table, the season comes to a thrilling close on June 14th against Brush Park at Brush Park. A victory against them will see West Pennant Hills make the sectional play-offs for the first time since 2009. I wholeheartedly encourage anyone who isn't bowling to join with the 5s at Brush Park and cheer the boys on. Your support may be the difference.

Another fine piece of “journalistic brilliance” from the academic.
