Round five of the 2014 Pennants Season followed an extended break of the Easter and ANZAC Day long weekends and had the boys really fired up and ready to perform against the lads from Brush Park. Freezing and blustery winds met all players in the home game at West Pennant Hills.
The Rod Foster Rockets with the line up of Tyrrell, Boughton, Schwarcz and Foster were on the money all day and performed well in these conditions. Special mention must be made a sensational bowl from Tony Boughton on the last end of their game which help the side greatly on the big board. A good win for this side 22-10.
The Hoffman Hornets faced another tough day at the office and were down early on. However, like true champions the boys rallied with the combination of Skidmore, Palm, Jeffrey and Hoffman coming together in the end to close the gap with the final result being 14-25 to Brush Park.
The Kevin Tuckerman Kings saw an unchanged line up of Jackson, Joyce, Wilson and Tuckerman taking the fight to a solid Brush Park outfit. The boys put in a mixed performance despite some good bowls from all players. Despite a strong comeback from Brush Park in the last three ends, the Kings held on for a 19-16 win.
