Congratulations to the two teams which won through to next week's grand final of the 2017 Gordon Atkins Men's Fours.
On rink three, Jim Ede, Ross Iredale, Dallas Palm and Mike Brown played against David Curtis, Geoff McIntosh, Rod Foster and David Wilson. I think both teams would agree that it was game played with a great deal of fun and a fair amount of sledging (sorry Ross and Dallas...not really). Both teams put down some great bowls with scores close in the first half. David's team shot ahead in the later stages of the game, taking the win 21-10.
On rink four, Doug McClymont, Dom Surace, Gerard D'Costa and Ross Fitzpatrick faced off against Peter Boyd, Rod Gamble, Mal Horner and Michael Quinlan. Not dissimilar to the other game, the teams stayed in pretty close touch for first half of the game. Michael's team started a bit of a breakaway, only to be pegged back by Ross's team and tied 15-all on the 17th end. Michael's team pulled away to a reasonably comfortable 22-15 lead before Ross's team picked up a five on the last end. However, the final score was 22-20 to Peter, Rod, Mal and Michael.
