Congratulations to all our winners from the first round and quarter finals of the 2017 Triples. With two games for some teams yesterday, the slow and heavy green frustrated many, proved to be a leveler of skill, and caused exhaustion all round.
In the morning's first round games, Keith Robinson, Ross Iredale and Mike Brown were up against Peter Boyd, Max Walters and Don Couch and Steve Arnold, Michael Schwarcz and Geoff McIntosh were facing off against Clive Donohoo, David Jeffrey (substituting for Rod Foster), and Rod Gamble.
In the first game between Mike Brown's team and Don Couch's team, the first nine ends were pretty even (although Mike's team benefited greatly from a five on the second end) with the scores sitting at 9-5. However, the rest of the game was very much a one sided affair with Don's team only winning one of the next ten ends. Mike's team took the game 30-7 to win through to the quarter finals.
In the other morning game between Geoff McIntosh's team and Rod Foster's team, Geoff's team had the measure of the green early on which saw them shoot to a 14-6 lead after nine ends. Rod's team came back well with a combination of multiple shot ends putting them within six shots with three ends to play (scores 20-14 to Geoff's team). However, that was where the comeback ended. Geoff's team won 22-15 to progress to the quarter finals.
In the first of the afternoon's quarter finals, Les Watkins, Dom Surace and Chris Judkins were against Jim Ede, Bob Cole and Darrin Ede. In another textbook example of a game of two halves, both teams were evenly matched through the first nine ends with the scores 7-6 to Chris's team. In the second half however, it was very much Darrin's team who were in control. Out of those twelve ends, they won ten. Despite picking up a 5 on the 17th end, Chris's team were unable to make it back into the game. Darrin's team took the win 30-14.
In the next game, Ross Fitzpatrick, Ian Corke and David Wilson played against Keith Robinson, Ross Iredale and Mike Brown. Mike's team made a great start taking five shots on the first end. David's team (after the initial shock) came back into the game, winning five ends in a row to take the lead 10-8 after nine ends. The killer blow in this game came in the next four ends. David's team won three of the four ends but collected 13 shots to 2 shots picked up by Mike's team. The final third of the game was much like the first third with the number of ends and shots conceded by both team being pretty even. However, the damage has been done with David's team taking the win 26-16.When the vessels in the male organ fill with blood the well response viagra online consultation the sexual stimulation and satisfaction. In the third game, Steve Arnold, Michael Schwarcz and Geoff McIntosh faced off against David Polley, Mal Horner (substituting for Barry Walker) and Ken Henry. Ken's team were quick out of the gates taking ten shots from the first five ends. Geoff's team came back strong with a quickfire 2 and 4 to have the scores 6-10 after seven ends. Ken's team powered on though, racking up a solid string of singles to lead 16-9 after 14 ends. Despite a late surge from Geoff's team with a 4 and 1 to put them within three shots with four ends to play, the fatigue of the morning game set in. Ken's team took ten shots from the last four ends, including successive four shot hauls in the last two ends. Ken's team got the win 27-14.
In the last quarter final game, Harold Holden (substituting for Roy "the Boy" Robinson), Merv Cannon and Dallas Palm were up against Michael Trimboli, Kevin Tuckerman (substituting for Doug McClymont) and Don Stubbin. Both teams were eager to prove their claim to a semi-final berth with the lead going back and forth early on in the game before Don's team shot out in front with a 2, 5 and a 3 to lead 15-8 after nine ends. Not to be outdone, Dallas's team stage a great comeback. They won the next five ends taking eleven shots to lead 21-15 after 15 ends. The last six ends were reasonably even with both teams taking shots from the other. There can only be one winner however, and it was Dallas's team with the win 26-18.
A fine effort from all teams. Darrin's team is up against David's team in the semi-final and Ken's team plays off against Dallas's team for a spot in the grand final. Best wishes to everyone for next weekend's semis. Full details are available here.
