2019 was the first year (at least in my memory) where the efforts of all bowling members at WPH Sports were celebrated in one function, whether the players were female, male or mixed. A great step forward for our club.
Presidents Kay and Ross Iredale opened the presentation on Saturday 30th November, with a short welcome and offered congratulations to champions and participants alike.
Our Master of Ceremonies, Michael Quinlan, started proceedings with the Women's Minor Singles, calling on Kaye Eagle to make the presentations to Helen Quinlan (Champion) and Heather Hardwick (runner-up).
Presentations worked through the singles, pairs, triples and fours disciplines (with the odd joke thrown in for interest) before finishing with the crowning achievements of the Women's Major Singles and the Men's Major Singles.
The Peter Michael Schwarcz "Men's Player of the Year" trophy was presented to Ross Fitzpatrick by Rod Wright.
In closing the presentations, Michael Quinlan offered thanks to the umpires and markers for their valuable contributions throughout the year, and to the coaches who endeavoured to bring out the best in our bowlers.
