The sun was shining and the bowls were rolling well when 28 friendly bowlers took to the green for the annual Queen's Birthday Mufti Day at the Club.
Names and rinks were drawn randomly then everyone settled down for a fun morning out on the green.
'Oos' and 'ahs' and friendly banter was heard around the green, and from the cards, there were many very close games. Everyone was enjoying themselves, what a nice way to spend a holiday Monday.
Prior to lunch the raffle was drawn with winners being - Stephen Hardwick, Yvonne Kavanagh, Rod Wright and Jim Ede.
Cash prizes for the day went to Marion Corrigan and Bhisham Singh for the biggest margin and Wendy Wise and Janet Downer for the most ends won.

The format was 2 sets of 9 end pairs, with a twist. At the start of the second set, leads swapped to skip and vice versa, just to mix it up a bit.
There was a skip with grey hair

Who bowled like he didn’t have a care
The teammates didn’t shirk
They did all the work
That’s why they call him ‘Armchair’
Today's award of 'Armchair' goes to Bhisham Singh, who claimed to have not needed to play a single good bowl all day, such was the calibre of his partner.
A fantastic bowls event on the Queen's Birthday.
Not a queen or king in sight, however, Jack was touched several times.
An absolute pleasure playing with the ladies in this social event.
