2020 Triples Round 1

Four games in the Triples played on Saturday 26th September.

Peter Boyd, Stephen Hardwick and Merv Cannon were off to a slow start against Don Couch, Steve Arnold and Kevin Tuckerman, trailing 4 to 11 after 9 ends. The tables turned with Merv's team taking 9 shots from the next 3 ends to hold a small lead of 13 to 11 after 12 ends. From here to the final ends was a close encounter with the scores 20 all on 21 ends. A tiebreaker was started and Steve Hardwick was holding 2 shots when Kevin killed the end with his last bowl. On the final end, Don, Steve and Kevin won by one shot. It was a nail biter finish!

Barry Rath, Rod Houston and David Roles played Clive Donohoo, Bish Singh and Max Walters. This game started slowly for David and team trailing 6 to 14 after 10 ends. A fightback saw David's team close the gap only to have Max and his boys pull away again. The final score was a David 16 to Max 21.

And yet another slow start match of the day with Les, John and Don trailing 0 to 11 after 5 ends! Typical of Don and his teammates, they dug in and by the 13th end, the scores were level on 13 each. Jim, Chris and Darrin dug a little deeper to regain their earlier mojo finishing the match with a 22 to 18 win.
