WPH had our third trial game ahead of the 2016 season against newcomers to Zone 10, Greenlees Park Bowling Club with two of our three WPH grades participating.
In the 5s, all teams faced stiff opposition from Greenlees Park. David Wilson's team came the closest to victory going down by one shot 19-20. Peter Eagle's team was close all the way but couldn't hang on recording a 20-30 lost. The heat proved too much for Kevin Hoffman as skip, luckily Ross Fitzpatrick (the most punctual man in the club) was able to "super sub" in for Kevin. However, this wasn't enough to win with the Hoffman/Fitzpatrick team going down 12-24. The overall result being 74-51 in favour of Greenlees Park.
In the 6s, Don Stubbin’s team recorded a tight win, as did Bob Cole's team with both recording two shot wins. Paul van Tilburg's side was without Stormin' Norm Jackson (to whom we wish a speedy recovery) and unfortunately went down 21-23. The 6s came away with their second razor thin 2 shot win of the season on 59-57.
