Yesterday's wins represent the first step towards yours truly placing an order for three new flagpoles for our club! It was wonderful to receive the results from all the games.
Following an unreportable result last week, this week's results are pretty good.
In the 5s, the Peter Eagle All-stars carried the side through to a big board win of 67-60 against Greenlees Park at Greenlees Park. Mike Brown, John Leonard, Rod Foster and Peter Eagle combined well to win their rink 34-11. This covered for the David Wilson Warriors (Jeremy Thiedeman, Keith Robinson, Geoff McIntosh and I) who went down 24-11 and the Kevin Tuckerman Kings (Les Watkins, Darrin Ede, Michael Schwarcz and Kevin Tuckerman) who went down 25-22. The 5s claimed an 8-2 win ahead of their next game against Toongabbie at Toongabbie.
In the 6s, a very similar story to the 5s saw Horners Hornets carry the side through to a razor thin big board win of 62-58 over Brush Park at WPH. Norm Jackson, Don Couch, Rod Gamble and Mal Horner had a big win on their rink 29-15. This made up for the deficit on the other two rinks with the D'Costa Dreadnoughts (Brian Joyce, Gary Tyrrell, Ross Iredale and Gerard D'Costa) going down 20-13 and Palm's Pirates (Peter Boyd, Dom Surace, Ross Fitzpatrick and Dallas Palm) going down 23-20. The 6s claimed an 8-2 win ahead of their next game against the Hills (2) at WPH.
