From the President – October Management Committee Meeting

I would like to inform all Members of the decisions taken by your Management Committee since the AGM.

Bowls Selection Panel

The five member panel will be responsible for all selections for social, pennants and representative tournaments –
Panel  -  Michael Schwarcz (chair), Mal Horner, Dominic Surace, Kevin Tuckerman, Don Couch

Bowls for Corporate Events

The purchase of ten sets of modern bowls will be made to update the existing bowls that bend from Bourke to Sydney.
Any bowler who may have a set of modern bowls not being used who would like to donate them to the club, please contact Max Walters.   Your donation would be most appreciated.

Greens

No. 1 green is out for renovation from 16th October and is scheduled for return early December.   The No. 2 green will then be renovated with return early February, well before Pennant season starts.

Twilight Bowls

Commenced 5th October on Thursday nights at 5.30pm.   Bowlers are encouraged to support Jim & Elaine Ede on these evenings.

Bowls Starting Time

As from Wednesday 18th October, bowls on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays will commence at 12.30pm year round.

Travelling Bowlers

23 bowlers are heading to Cairns (23rd October to 3 November), playing five games against Atherton BC, Marlin Coast BC, West Cairns BC, Edmonton BC and Mossman Memorial BC.   Thanks to the Tour Organiser, Jeremy Thiedeman, for organising this trip again – good bowling and sight seeing to all.
