On Wednesday 13th July, the 2022-2023 Minor Pairs was played. The teams were Rod Houston and Bhish Singh against Barry O’Rourke and John Skidmore. This was to be a hard fought close game.
The first End was won by Team Barry and John with 2 shots. The next End was won by Team Rod and Bhish, also with 2 shots. By the fourth End the score was even at 3 shots each.
Barry and John decided to go for it by winning the next five Ends, bringing the score to 8 vs 3.
This clearly motivated Rod and Bhish to rally and deliver 6 shots over the next 3 Ends to lead with a score of 9 vs 8.
Rod and John immediately took 4 shots on the 13th End to lead 12 vs 9. Once again Rod and Bhish decided to fight back hard and won the next five Ends with a leading score of 17 vs 12 on the 19th End.
With 3 Ends to go, Barry and John now needed 5 shots to even the score. Although they managed to win all remaining Ends, they could only capture 3 shots which delivered the victory to Rod and Bhish.
