It’s Not How Good You Are…

It's Not How Good You Are...

There was a curious coincidence in my house on Saturday afternoon.  I was picking up around the house and thinking about our Effective Interviewer Conference.  [If you interview and hire by ‘instinct’, you need to go].  I was thinking about all the interviews I’ve ever done. I wondered if there was any job I’ve ever interviewed for that didn’t need people skills.  And I couldn’t think of one.

At the same time, I had the TV on, playing reruns of Project Runway.  Dani can’t believe that I can stand the drama, but

I LOVE watching people work. The way they turn a flat piece of fabric into something breathtaking is just amazing to me.  When it gets down the final few you can just see how talented they are.  I’m not a fashion person at all, but the talent fascinates me.

But if you discount viagra there is always a great idea to start by gaining a more profound understanding in ED. Then if you appalachianmagazine.com levitra 40 mg find a suspicious medications that you cannot identify, you may need to take it to bad turn. They are now also accredited by viagra online appalachianmagazine.com certain insurance companies. These are sexual disorders like erectile buy levitra wholesale dysfunction, premature ejaculation, low sperm count and low sperm motility.

So, I’m thinking about people skills and then one of the judges says ‘it’s not how good you are, it’s how good you are with people’.  It’s the perfect encapsulation of what I was thinking about.  Even in the show, being a genius is not enough.  There’s hair and make up to be done, which means communicating a vision and working with the specialists there.  There’s the models, who don’t just wear the clothes - they sell them on the runway.  If your model doesn’t like you, she can make your dress look really bad.

And, despite the fact it’s a competition, there’s a great deal of communication between the contestants.  The ones that are less than pleasant get eliminated quickly - because they don’t get the same kind of input from others that the more pleasant ones do.

“I’m a genius” is an easy mask to hide behind.  But “it’s not [just] how good you are, it’s how good you are with people”.
