Jim fought his way back into the game to be three shots behind Ross at 15-18 after 17 ends. This must have shocked Ross into action. He took 13 shots to Jim's 5 to win the game 31-20.
The longest game of the round at 34 ends was Michael Schwarcz and Max Walters. The biggest difference in scores throughout the whole game was 6 shots and that was quickly shortened by Max with a 4 on the next end. Despite Michael leading for all but three ends out of the game, Max was always in with a chance. The penultimate end saw the scores sitting 30-29 in Michael's favour. Mike got one shot on the last end to win 31-29.
In the last of the quarter final games, Mal Horner faced off against Don Couch. In what was very much a game of two halves, Don and Mal matched each other pretty evenly to be 12-11 in Mal's favour after 13 ends. It was at this point Don took off winning 11 shots from the next five ends.
