In the first game, Ross Fitzpatrick was up against Michael Trimboli. After Michael won the first two ends, Ross got on a winning streak which saw him take the next five ends in a row to lead 9-3 after seven ends. Ross continued to rake up a few ends to lead 19-9 after 15 ends. At this point, Michael started his comeback. He put together some great combinations to almost level the scores at 19-20 after 22 ends. Over then next 14 ends, the game stayed pretty close before Ross made his move to take the win 31-25. It is a testament to both bowlers that 22 out of 36 ends were singles.
In the second semi-final, Michael Schwarcz and Don Couch faced off. In a similar start to the other semi-final, Michael and Don were going shot for shot before Michael made a bit of a breakaway to lead 11-5 after 13 ends. However, Don was determined to get back into the game and so he did, putting in some great multiple shot ends to tie the game 15-all after 21 ends. From here though, it was all Michael's game including a 4 on the 24th end and 3s on the 30th and 32nd ends. Don made a late break but by this point Michael had the game, winning the 35th end by one shot to win 31-22.
The final is currently scheduled for next Wednesday 28 February between Ross and Michael.
