I have always said nobody does it better than West Pennant Hills when it comes to hosting major events. Despite my bias, it was fantastic to receive more formal recognition of our organisational prowess when it comes to major events. West Pennant Hills was recognised by the Zone at its recent Management Committee meeting about our hosting of the Bowls NSW Rookies Zone 10 Qualifying rounds on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August (Singles) and Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September (Pairs).
From the meeting:
In-line with the ethos of allowing all Zone 10 Clubs willing to host Zone 10 Finals the opportunity to do so, the Finals of the Zone 10 Qualifying for the Bowls NSW Rookies Singles and Pairs competitions were moved to a new venue in 2015, with West Pennant Hills Sports Club given the opportunity to show their wares and what a showing it was. With very little input from Zone 10 Match, West Pennant Hills managed all aspects of the running of the competition with aplomb from provision of a Controlling Body through to regular Web updates of the scores. All competitors were delighted with their efforts and so was the Zone 10 Match Committee – an excellent job.The district also encourages managers to visit each other's buildings to observe specific practices or simply do informal "buddying" sildenafil australia on selected issues. This is an excellent result for all of the WPH personnel involved in a group effort over the two weekends. Let's hope we can continue this fine form and host further events in the future!
It was good to see the strength of the Rookie players, particularly our Darrin and Ross, and to know that the sport of bowls has some skilled players coming through.
Looking forward to 2016 and the opportunity to do an even better job of showcasing our club.
