On Saturday 30th July, Don Couch and Wayne Ede were ready to battle out the final of the 2022-2023 Minor Singles.
The game commenced with Don taking two quick wins giving him a lead of 3 v nil. Wayne steadied his nerves and took two shots on the next End. Don responded with another win to lead 4 v 2.
At this stage Wayne focused his thoughts and found his rhythm, convincingly winning the next seven Ends in a row. By the eleventh End Wayne held a commanding lead of 14v4.
Don valiantly fought back, but Wayne was determined to stymie Don’s efforts to establish any sort of a comeback.
The game progressed, with Don winning the odd End, but Wayne simply dominated the remainder of the game, securing victory after 25 Ends 31v8.
