Day 10, Sunday 5th February 2017
Today we farewell Scamandar and set off for Launceston. Our first stop along the way is the Pyengana Dairy & Cheese Company.
The dairy is fully automated. The cows are microchipped so the computer knows which cow it is and controls the farm gates to direct the cow to the milking shed, where a robot automatically attaches the milking cups. It also checks the cow for any health issues, and knows how much milk it should deliver. After milking, the cow is rewarded with an automatic back scratch! The milk is used to produce award winning cheeses.
Some of the travellers visit a near by waterfall while others stay at the pub in the paddock.
We return to the pub in the paddock for lunch before visiting the wood carvings in Ledgewood on our way to Launceston.
On the coach we are treated to some music and a singalong.
The evening is free to dine where we like.
