The WPH Sports Travelling Bowlers have been rounded up again for yet another tour. This time to our far north where Cairns will play host to our adventures.
Our tour to Cairns follows on from our very successful tours to Norfolk Island and more recently to Tasmania. Who will forget that fabulous time had by all on the Progressive Dinner with a hearty sing-a-long on the coach in Norfolk or those memorable day tours throughout Tassie. Great fun was had by all.
The tour group of 21 confirmed tourists, including 19 bowlers, eagerly await their departure on the 23rd October for a total of 12 days. We return on the 3rd November. Flights and accommodation have been booked. We are staying in the centrally located Southern Cross Apartments.
I anticipate this tour to provide all the bowlers a strong bowling challenge. I have confirmed 5 bowling matches against strong bowling clubs. These include Mossman, Marlin Coast, Atherton, West Cairns and Edmonton. The location of these clubs also gives the group the opportunity to travel widely in surrounding regions of the city. Apart from our bowling fixtures the tour group has 5 full free days to explore the region. This will include tours such as The Barrier Reef, Mossman Gorge and the Daintree, Port Douglas, The Tablelands (Atherton) and Kuranda via Scenic Rail and Skyway. Cairns offers a wonderful touring opportunity.
