Two games of the 2020 Major Singles were played yesterday. The first game between Marion Corrigan and June Huntley started out a very close battle. Scores were tied at 3 all, 5 all and then after 11 ends the score was again tied at 9 all. After 18 ends Marion led by just one point with the score 15-14 in her favour. Marion then put her foot on the accelerator and won 6 of the next 7 ends to win The game 25-16.
In the other game, between Lorraine Singh and new bowler Jenny Parker, Lorraine won the first 5 ends to lead 9-0. Jenny won 3 of the next 5 ends but just a point each time to bring the score to 11-3 in Lorraine’s favour. Even though Jenny was playing well she lost the next 7 ends and after 25 ends the score was 24-5 to Lorraine. Jenny was determined and was able to keep Lorraine on 24 for for 4 ends. The final score was 25-11 to Lorraine. The fact that Jenny had second shot in 11 ends against the much more experienced Lorraine bodes well for Jenny’s future!
